Set Up Manual Payment Method in Shopify POS
To mark POSBridge payments as paid in Shopify, you need to create a manual payment method once.
POSBridge is a POS Smart Grid Extension — not an embedded payment provider in Shopify Checkout. After the card payment on the SumUp terminal, you complete the order manually in Shopify POS using a custom payment method. You only need to create this once.
Open Shopify Admin
Sign in to your Shopify Admin.
Point of Sale → Settings
Navigate to Point of Sale → Settings.
Open Payments
Click on Payments.
Add custom payment method
Scroll to Payment methods and options → Custom and click Add custom payment method.
Enter a name
Enter a clear name, e.g. SumUp or Card payment. This name will appear at checkout as a selectable option.
Save
Click Save. The payment method is now available at checkout in Shopify POS.
Tip: If you have multiple terminals or locations, one manual payment method is enough for all — e.g. simply SumUp. You do not need to repeat this per terminal or location.
Note: This payment method is only used for marking the order in Shopify. The actual card payment runs completely and securely through the SumUp terminal.
