Setup Overview: 10 Steps to First Payment
The complete overview — what to do and in what order.
Plan about 15–20 minutes for initial setup. You need: SumUp account, SumUp Solo terminal, iPad or iPhone with Shopify POS.
1. Request access and install the app
Open Request access on getposbridge.com. After review you receive a personal install link — POSBridge is not publicly listed on the Shopify App Store.
2. Connect SumUp Account (OAuth)
POSBridge → Settings → Connect SumUp via OAuth → log in with SumUp account → click Allow. Done — no API key or merchant code needed.
3. Enable API Mode on terminal
On SumUp Solo: Settings → Advanced → Enable API Mode. Terminal shows pairing code.
4. Pair terminal
POSBridge → Terminals → Pair new reader → Enter 8–9 character code → Pair.
5. Assign terminal to location
Terminals → select terminal → Assign → choose Shopify location → Save.
6. Create manual payment method
Shopify Admin → Point of Sale → Settings → Payments → Add custom payment method → name e.g. SumUp → Save.
7. Add POS Extension to Smart Grid
Shopify POS app → pencil icon → Add app tile → POSBridge → Done.
8. Perform first test payment
Shopify POS → add product → tap POSBridge tile → Start payment → tap card → manually complete checkout.
9. Set up reconciliation
POSBridge → Reconciliation → Start sync → check automatic matching.
10. Select plan (after trial)
After 7 days: POSBridge → Plans → choose plan → confirm in Shopify.
